 Handcrafted website design & build
Whether you need a basic 'brochure' website that describes your business and lets people know how to get in contact with you, or a more elaborate website with online shopping, content management, newsletters, or other features, we can design a site that meets your needs.
Our services include developing and implementing all elements on your website, from organizing your materials into a logical sequence, to graphic design and photography, to domain name selection and registration. Once the content is organized, we hand code every page to insure that the design is reprocuded accurately; we never use a "cookie-cutter" template approach to building a website.
Your website's look is developed as a Photoshop graphic—offering great flexibility from the start. Because we own our web servers, we can post "in progress" pages for your review and comments, while the work in ongoing.

 Database Design and Integration
It is truly amazing what a well-designed database, coupled with intellegent scripting can accomplish for businesses that require dynamic content control. Web pages can be easily updated, product inventory made current, all sorts of information can be managed and presented to a web visitor in accurate and in meaningful ways.
We are experienced in solving coding puzzles using Javascript and Perl languages on Linux servers. These tools paired with a professional mySQL database provide pratically unlimited possibilities for information storage and presentation.  Website Updating
Unlike printed brochures which may go out of date and are then useless, the content of a web page can be easily updated. If you don't have the time to make changes to your web content, we can provide ongoing updating and editing services to keep your website current. This is done on an hourly basis (see rates page).
We prefer to have our clients do their own updates whenever practical. For this, we provide web-browser based administration panels that can be used by the website owner to make changes from anywhere. We will be happy to demonstarte to potential clients how easy it is to update a website.

 Domain Name Registration
We can assist you in selecting and registering a domain name with the proper organization. A good name is getting harder to find; you may need to try a different twist to your business name or use something new. Once you decide on a domain name, we can do the paperwork for you or guide you through the process. In either case, the name will be registered to you, not to 3hats. You will be free to control your domain's registration information—even the location of your website—at any time in the future.

 Website Promotion with Search Engines
Having your website listed with the search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.) is a necessary step in creating visibility online.
While no one can guarantee that your website will be positioned at the top of the search page, we will do everything possible to "optimize" your chances of getting the search engines attention.  Website Hosting
While we are primarily a design company, we found out early on that we would be much more cost effective for our clients ir we owned and managed our own servers. The reasons are multiple, but mainly we like the idea of trusting and understanding the computer and software running our websites. We use Linux systems and Apache web servers, the most popular combination worldwide.
We only host our design clients and offer competitive rates for state-of-the-are systems, located in a primary data center in downtown Seattle.

 Email Setup and Management
Spam, spam, spam! While there is no absolute solution to this menace, we do everything practical to help deter it. We provide email boxes under your domain name; we can forward your mail to another address, or both. We can also coach you how to access and reply to your email, from the office or while on the road.

 Website Visitor Statistics
Most of our hosting service levels include website tracking software that records the number of visitors, what pages they read and for how long, as well as many other useful statistics.
